A nice clear, blue sky is not ideal weather for training a student for an instrument rating. A great way to combat these situations is to put the student “under the hood” or to have him wear a pair of foggles, such as the ones IFR Student, Richard Boothe, is wearing in this photo. Richard can only see his plane’s instrumentation, much like being lost in a cloud. The trouble for Richard is that he is also subject to Tom taking his picture without knowing it! Tom loves moments like these!
